I know our entire audience isn't entrepreneurs, but for those who are, this episode is for you. As well, if you are genuinely curious how business, branding and start ups work, it's a great conversation to listen in on.

I met our guest, Arielle Loren in 2015 when she attended my Wild Soul Movement retreat in Costa Rica. Ever since I've really enjoyed watching her business and trajectory evolve and we dove into all the parts in this conversation.

We talked about integrating larger social issues into business, which is what she's been doing by focusing on the disparity between how funding gets allocated to the rest of the entrepreneur field vs what's available to early stage, women of color founders.

She explained the difference between different types of funding, what "bootstrap mentality" means, and how to leverage and build credit and gain access to certain circles.

We explored where people waste their money in the early stages of running a business, the psychology and process to sales, working remotely, AND the role self care, focus and perspective play in running a sustainable business.

I also loved hearing about her various ventures over the years, living abroad, and how she landed in Miami as her current home base.

This is a rich and layered conversation. Enjoy and share!

Today's guest Sara Bliss wrote a book where she interviewed more than 65 people about their big life transitions, specifically related to career changes. As someone who geeks out on life transitions, period, I was excited to dive in with her around what she discovered through all these conversations and experiences.

Her own big truth was around the leap she took in releasing this book from being behind the scenes for many years as a ghostwriter, to being on the front end of things with this endeavor.

During the interview, we talked about the many different aspects of change and transition. She shared why she isn't a fan of the advice to "follow your passion," but prefers to be really invested in it. Which also led us to the difference between a passion and a calling.

We also got into the impact these big changes and transitions had on people's relationships. I enjoyed this chat very much and hope you do, too.

Y'all, I'm so excited to introduce one of my new favorite people to you today, Her name is Trudi Lebrón and she's also half Puerto Rican - which is one of our connection points, though you'll see throughout the conversation there are many more than that.

Trudi's big truth was the idea that everyone has their own path, which sparked a short conversation around all the paths within our paths throughout life.

From there we got into the difference between things that are culturally insensitive and blatantly harmful and she gave context and examples for a lot of terms we hear - fragility, impact, intent, self centering, woke, microaggressions, ally, and accomplice to name most of them. She gave us some practical applications of equity and what theory looks like vs practice in your life and business.

She also dropped one of my favorite metaphors of all time - you'll have to listen to get the full thing, but it's about money mindset and unconscious bias.

This is one of those "listen more than once" type of episodes. Enjoy and share!

I met today's guest at a conference in 2018 about decentering whiteness in yoga and mindfulness spaces. She was a keynote speaker and hearing her story and experience not only moved me, but really helped to anchor in so much of what we've been learning and exploring about racism, oppression, and liberation here on the show over the last two years, so I was pumped when she agreed to come on.

Michelle Cassandra Johnson is a social justice activist, anti-racism trainer, author and yoga teacher. Her big truth was around needing to shed layers and let go to create space for different opportunities and energies.

In this conversation we talked specifically about creating liberatory spaces, decreasing suffering and doing things differently in western yoga environments. She walked us through how justice is possible if we really live into the principles of yoga, shared her perspective on oneness, holding things at the same time, why she prefers to say "safer" space than safe space, and the kinds of microaggressions that are common for black people in yoga classes.

We also talked about her book, Skill In Action, how she's delivering her work in the world currently and how repair actually happens.

This is a deep and thorough chat, enjoy and share, especially with your yoga friends!

Today's episode takes us on an exploration of something I don't talk about a lot and that is quantum physics, consciousness and the holographic nature of the universe. Some folks are really going to resonate with this and others might be like, "What the actual hell are you all talking about, Elizabeth?" So I want to remind you, I'm not here to hit the mark every episode with every person, I'm here to follow my own curiosity and take you on the adventure with me.

Our guest today is Christina Rasmussen, a dear friend and repeat guest. The basis for the interview is her new book, Where Did You Go?

Her big truth was how people who are made the same way have such opposing ideas.

From there we talked about life, death, creation and seeing this reality we live in for what it actually is. We talked about synchronicity and the holographic principle, immersing ourselves in a world of unexpected experiences every day and how to respect people's foundational beliefs (as long as they aren't causing harm).

We got into the Observer Effect, how grief is an evolutionary experience and despite what many of us have been taught, why it is ok to pick and choose to create your own foundational beliefs that will create happiness in your life.

This is a juicy one! Enjoy and share.

Today's guest is Susanna Barkataki and her big truth was about how intimately interconnected wellness, healing, and social justice are.

We talked about dominant culture, how whiteness is upheld in yoga and wellness spaces, power dynamics and structures, people's capacity for discomfort and navigating the big emotions that come up doing this kind of work: sadness, grief, and anger.

Susanna provided a thorough examination of violence and nonviolence in three levels - self, interpersonal and institutional - which helped me deepen my learning a lot and I really hope it does for you also.

We also talked about how to dismantle and build at the same time, decolonizing our own minds, internalized oppression, trauma-informed yoga and the nature of privilege.

A few notes on the summit Susanna is hosting that we mentioned in the interview which I am a guest for:

I haven't said yes to an online summit in years, but when Susanna invited me to be part of her summit, I made an exception because the topic is super important to me. Even so, as I do not have the time to personally vet each speaker or listen to the other 20+ interviews, please be aware that my participation in this summit is not an endorsement for every speaker in the lineup and it's likely that not all views are in alignment with my own. I do recommend that you use your own discernment if you choose to sign up for the summit and be aware that you will receive several emails once you do and be invited to a Facebook group for discussion, which you do not have to join if you don't want to.

As well, as clear communication is a high value for me, I want to add that based on some of the messaging around it, it seems the summit, though titled Honor Don't Appropriate Yoga is largely focused on diversifying western yoga asana practice spaces, just as much, if not moreso than addressing cultural appropriation within the western yoga world.

This is my new favorite interview of all time, period. I had a feeling it might be as today's guest is the author of a book that completely changed my life last year. The book is Deeper Dating and the author is Ken Page.

I waited to have him on the show for a few months so I could implement what I learned from the book when I read it the summer of 2018. I also recommended it to several friends and clients and have been geeking out on it for months.

Anyway - I could gush on but truly, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did and listen several times.

Ken's big truth was around hidden arrogance when in conflict.

From there we talked about intimacy as a journey of rupture and repair, learning about the humble act of messing up, how he came to discover the content in the Deeper Dating book in his work with clients as a therapist and his perspective on codependency.

Then we talked about my favorite concept in the book: Attractions of Inspiration and Attractions of Deprivation aka why we get turned on by things that aren't good for us and how to shift away from that to being turned on to what is. It's game-changing, y'all!

We talked about emotional availability and finally - FINALLY!! He gave me alternative language to use instead of "masculine and feminine" - "instrumentality and expressiveness."

We also bumped into one of my own biggest wounds that comes up in romantic relationships and I had a little cry in the middle of the interview.

Like I said, this is my favorite interview of all time period.

Enjoy, share, tell your friends, review it, get the Deeper Dating book, and I hope you find me on Instagram and tell me everything after you listen!

Enjoy, share and let me know what lands and resonates with you about this one!

This month's solo episode is about the Power of Love. I wanted to do this since it's the month in which Valentine's Day occurs which gets a lot of folks "in their feelings" about love. I didn't focus on romantic love in this episode though - mainly because next week we have the author of Deeper Dating, Ken Page, with one of my favorite interviews ever on the subject.

This episode focused on reciprocity, giving and receiving and so many different expressions of love. From self-care and gentleness to vulnerability, doing sacred work in the world, generosity, boundaries and communication and more.

I shared a few stories in this one about a particularly rough day I had that ended in meeting two earth angels whose story was more than moving; it was healing, revealing and permission giving. I drew out the story so you could perhaps, relate. Especially to times when you need your own love and that of others because if there's one thing I'm certain we all need constant reminding of, it's that we are worthy of love and sometimes forget that.

Enjoy, share and let me know what lands and resonates with you about this one!

Keisha Shields is on the show today. We explored leadership in depth and she provided some incredible distinctions around transparency, storytelling and oversharing. Her big truth was around issues leaders have and the difficulty of "claiming space."

We talked about different types of leaders, how people come to their true center and the distinction between privacy and secrecy. Keisha shared a bit of her story, along with her practice of being an open chapter, but not an open book, which I loved, and we also explored the value of sharing our stories and storytelling.

We got into discerning when it's valuable to share the story of an experience, or the story of the impact the experience had on us, the difference between healthy and unhealthy validation and determining if and when we are safe ourselves or we are protecting someone else's safety.

This is a really smart, fiery, and fun conversation, enjoy!

Today we have Janelle Hardy with us - what’s cool about Janelle is that I’d actually not been familiar with her work until she interviewed me on her podcast. It was such an enjoyable conversation - there’s a link to it in the show notes - that I wanted her on our show. I wanted more of her energy and to know more about what she does, and so this is a really enjoyable interview.

We talk about the importance of self-reclamation and self-expression, and how watching your children grow up brings up your own issues as they progress through their own timeline. We talk about the process of getting to know yourself, shedding layers to find your wholeness, and about bodywork, as Janelle is a bodyworker, and I was really curious about the energetics of that when you have your hands on so many people’s bodies and how that affects you and your life every day. We also talk about cultural experiences, socialization, and the relationship between grief and rage and how that relates to your ancestry.

Enjoy and share!

I'm excited to introduce you to today's guest, Molly Mahar. She happens to be one of my "business besties" and one of the few coaches I'll be having on the show in 2019.

Her big truth was around balancing abundance and allowing herself to desire more or to desire differently than she has in the past.

We talked about internal and external space, keeping things practical, specific and exquisite in personal and professional practices, the difference between being triggered and intrigued, and what we can learn from boredom.

We also discussed one of my biggest pet peeves in the coaching world, the idea that we always need to be pushing or leaning into an "edge" - instead Molly and I explored healthier and more self-honoring relationships to our edges.

Enjoy and share!

About Molly Mahar:

Molly Mahar is the founder of Stratejoy — an online community that has helped thousands of women reclaim joy and meaning in their world. She’s an entrepreneur, mama, and adventurer obsessed with taboo topics, designing personal experiments, and the power of sisterhood. Molly teaches everything she knows about claiming ownership of your life + your truth in her 10 month online program, Reclamation. You can access her free training on the 21 Life Skills of the Reclaimed Woman, connect with her via Instagram, or join her for a live online Circle. Molly’s superpowers? Telling the truth kindly, gathering awesome women together, and yes — reclaiming joy.

I’ve been excited to share this interview with you since I first recorded it two months ago. This conversation with Eva Clay really helped to change the trajectory of my dating life. Her insights, advice and techniques changed my perspective immensely on what’s possible in dating and romantic connection with men, outside of monogamy.

This interview isn’t necessarily about non-monogamy, but with everything Eva shares from ways to not get attached or obsessed too soon, how to stay in your own experience and your own body when you’re first connecting with someone new, the impact of social media on self-image and self-esteem and more, you may also be rethinking how you approach dating and relationships by the time it’s over.

I appreciate Eva’s extensive training, deep experience and wise way of integrating science, embodiment and spirituality. Enjoy and share this one far and wide, y’all!

About Eva Clay:

An acclaimed sexologist, psychotherapist and academic, for over two decades Eva Clay’s been following her mission to illuminate the ménage-a-trois of soul, sex, and science. Eva’s courses are a robust marriage of the profound and the playful, and as a former professor of neuroscience, she bodaciously reminds us that smart is sexy. She’s trained extensively in mind-body therapies such as Somatic Experiencing, Gestalt, Imago Couples Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Trauma-Informed Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her making trouble on a dance floor.
