In today's show, we're exploring something we never have before - hypnotherapy as a healing modality. And we can't talk about hypnotherapy without getting into beliefs and how the subconscious mind works, so I was really excited Stephanie Kwong, a dear friend of mine and brilliant practitioner, agreed to come on the show to jam on all of it.

This was a really fun and also personal conversation where we both shared some of the beliefs we've been working to rewire. Steph's was around making it hard for people to love her. Mine was around trusting myself but not trusting others.

We talked about patterns, managing expectations, and the ways we delete and distort information in our reality to make things match our current beliefs. She also walked me through the four ways to actually change your beliefs for good.

This is a really juicy conversation - a combination of personal stories and examples, as well as client stories, really bring home just how complex our minds are and how important it is to pay attention to the ways we act based on what we think is true that isn't necessarily true.

Enjoy and share!

xo,

E

Truth Telling with Elizabeth DiAlto aims to cut through the noise and ignorance of our current culture by exploring the truths of a diverse range of incredible voices. From authors, artists, creatives and educators, to activists, speakers and those in various scientific and esoteric fields - our guests hail from cultures and countries all over the world. The main intention here is to contribute to creating a kinder, gentler, more curious, collaborative, reverent world where people respect each others’ background experiences and truths and they learn to trust in themselves and life and recognize that we really do need each other.  We post a new interview every Monday and if you want to keep up with the show notes and quotes from our guests you can follow me on Instagram.  If you love what you hear here and you find it useful and inspiring the best way to show your appreciation is to share the episode, subscribe to the show, and leave us a review wherever you listen from.

It's taken me about two years to get today's guest on the show and it was so worth the wait! Before we dive in though I do want to give a trigger warning for anyone with sexual assault or abuse in their history because we do go there a bit and Betsy shares pieces of her story and experiences.

Her truth was about reclaiming the potential of the body to feel good, especially as it relates to female sexual dysfunction. This launched us into a conversation about body memory. Often we hear about the body storing trauma and "bad" memories and Betsy reminded us that the body also stores potential and good memories.

We talked about honoring the uniqueness of healing journeys, body wisdom, body truth and what the "care" in self-care actually means.

Betsy shared her experience and perspective on menopause, orgasms, reclaiming our voices and responsible use of our stories and storytelling.

It's so good, I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved having it. You may even want to review it a few times to let it all sink in, enjoy!

My dear friend Rebekah Borucki is back for her third visit on Truth Telling and this time her big truth is around realizing that she has influence and is not the underdog she's perceived and positioned herself as for most of her life.

We talked a lot about motherhood, from mom guilt, going after your dreams, finding balance in relationships, the difference between raising young kids and having older children, to dealing with conflicts, giving kids the space and support to be who they are meant to be, and more!

The conversation is less about parenting and more about the experience of being a mother through all of its phases and stages.

As always when Bex is in the house, it's a juice and deep conversation. Enjoy and share - especially with your mom groups and friends!

It feels goooood to be back y’all.

So good.

And it feels so good because DAMN I NEEDED THAT BREAK!

I suspect I will take a summer break every summer from now on - but you know me, I always reserve the right to change my mind so we’ll see what summer 2020 brings when we get there.

I’m recording this on Tuesday 8/27, it’ll air on Monday 9/2 and this morning I also officially popped back onto Instagram. I’ve been dabbling a bit in the last week or so, but there’s something about using intentional words to say, hello, I’m back, let’s do this, thank you for being here with me, here’s what’s up that feels right and appropriate to me.

IG POST: Officially back from summer break ☀️🧜🏽‍♀️💃🏽👑✨⠀

I dubbed this my Queen Summer in June because I wanted to integrate some deep personal work I’d been doing for almost three years and “crown myself” before my 36th birthday. ⠀

If you’re new here, I’m Elizabeth: Virgo Sun, Cap Moon, Gemini Rising. ENFJ. Manifesting Generator - 6/2, 🇵🇷🇮🇹. From NY, live in LA. For fun I dance salsa and do stand up comedy.⠀

Sensuality, nuance, discernment, curiosity, belly laughing, collective healing + liberation, fierce love, compassion and grace are some of my jams. ⠀

I’m into remembering and embracing that we’re all fully human and fully divine. I lust for the mystical and the esoteric while keeping things grounded and real. ⠀

I’m an embodiment teacher, creator of Wild Soul Movement, and host of the Truth Telling podcast - which turns 5 in 2020!⠀

My life’s work is about healing, growth, embodiment and truth (the kind that’s always evolving within us and around us).⠀

I work with clients 1:1, do Akashic Records readings, have a year long online women’s circle called POWER, run about 10 workshops /yr and train teachers in Wild Soul Movement. ⠀

I think masterminds are overdone so in 2020 I’m debuting a new retreat-based experience called SACRED - a soulful exploration of JOY through travel, connection and restoration. I’m gonna take 12 “high powered” womxn on four life altering adventures ✈️🌎🐬🌹🏜⛱⠀

I keep up my education and practice to be trauma and social justice informed and choose to roll with people who are doing the same.⠀

I’m also here to explore what it means to reclaim and redefine womxnhood for the 21st century.⠀

I’m not into cancel culture, but I am into integrity and accountability, so I won’t stand for or be party to willful ignorance, manipulative or abusive behavior, however, I will always root for folks to learn, heal, grow and do better.⠀

In 2019 I decided to post more movement videos to remind people to spend more time in their bodies. I tag them #wsm222 and you can find them in my stories now.⠀

I appreciate your time, energy and attention more than you could know. Thank you so much for being here with me 🙌🏼❤️

Enjoy the episode!
