To close out this season of the Embodied Podcast, I’m coming to you solo and exploring the power of feeling and dealing with your emotions. I like to think of it as going out on an emotional LIM: literacy, intelligence, and maturity. It’s so important to go back to the fundamentals and dig into what processing your feelings actually means.

If you’re engaged with life in a growth-oriented way, this work is invaluable and timeless. Regardless of how enlightened or energetically-aligned you are, life has a way of throwing new challenges and tests at you everyday.

Join us back here on January 16th for a new season where we’ll be diving into more healing, joy, and liberation.

In episode 410 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [3:39] The difference between feeling and dealing.
  • [8:49] Practicing emotional literacy, intelligence, and maturity.
  • [12:35] Tuning into how your signals and triggers change over time, especially as you engage in more healing work.
  • [18:02] Why I think the feeling and dealing work is beneficial for everyone.
  • [23:50] Quieting the inner critic to make space for more compassion and understanding.
  • [27:13] Feeling this undercurrent of fatigue and the need for rest during this season.

In this episode, I sit down with Elisha Halpin, spiritual mentor and embodiment coach, to discuss consistency, playfulness as an adult, and nervous system healing. Elisa illustrates the beauty of a deep regulation journey and exploiting your relationship with curiosity, consistency, and choice. She also shares her interpretation of the initiation with the dark goddess and what it means to be in full flow with yourself.

Elisa adds so many rich layers to the ongoing embodiment and expansion discussion that we're always having, so don’t miss this conversation!

In episode 408 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [2:44] The joy of slowing down, especially as a person who loves change and transition.
  • [11:15] What it looks like to practice consistency in a way that honors who you are.

Today I’m joined by Josie Pickens, organizer, educator, journalist, and culture critic, to discuss how to be a better lover to yourself, others, and explore intimacy in a more expansive way. Josie unpacks the message behind her essay “Party of One” that was featured in Sex and the Single Woman, and she describes her journey to being in a primary relationship with herself.

We also dive into the juicy healing work that Josie has been doing and the ripple effect that it’s had on her life. We touch on our experiences with non-monogamy and polyamory, and celebrate how younger generations are reimagining what’s possible when it comes to love, dating, and relationships.

Don’t miss this conversation with Josie where we dig into how to be more loving people in a world that tries so hard to get us to not be.

In episode 407 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [3:18] The healing work Josie’s currently engaging in
  • [11:03] How to allow yourself to live your liberation and be nourished, even within the systems that we live in
  • [15:45] Why feeling ‘enough’ is one of the most abundant feelings in the world
  • [20:38] What distinguishes hoping from wishing
  • [23:50] The connection between curiosity, surprise, and satisfaction
  • [28:57] Limitations on how boys and girls are socialized relationally
  • [38:36] The themes and takeaways from “Party of One”
  • [44:24] What it looks like to be in a primary relationship to yourself
  • [51:37] Why does the goal of any relationship need to be lifelong companionship or marriage?
  • [54:16] Advice for people who have a hard time making decisions from a place of self love or self preservation

This week, I invited Charlotte Ruth Wilson, a multi-passionate creative and embodiment coach, for a deep and thought-provoking conversation on the distinction between the business of coaching vs. the skills of coaching, the polarity dynamics of feminine and masculine energies, and the role vulnerability & creativity play in our relationships and businesses.

How can we let sacredness be the medicine for so much that ails us? In life, love, work, and all our relationships?

Today we’re diving into sacredness, relational healing, how both can really influence collective and systemic shifts in the world.

Are your relationships deeply nourishing? Do they feel supportive and fulfilling? Or are you finding yourself drained from dealing with bad behavior, emotional immaturity, or unhealed trauma?

This week, I want to invite you into some deeper thinking & awareness around how you engage with people.

Personally, I’ve had to heal and grow a lot in this area with -

  • Creating better boundaries that honor my relationships and myself
  • Building better communication with the people in my life
  • Lowering my tolerance for bad behavior while ALSO giving people the opportunity to repair poor behaviors
  • And, allowing myself to bring sacredness into everything I do

Ultimately, creating reciprocal, nourishing & supportive relationships is about honoring the inherent sacredness in all of us and honoring the different ways we each love.

Join me for this deeper conversation around how you’re engaging with the people in your life and the healing that can be found in honoring and embracing the sacredness of ALL life.

In episode 405 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [9:33] Healing from codependency & unearned benefits of the doubt
  • [11:25] Saying NO to bad behavior, emotional immaturity & unhealed trauma responses
  • [14:08] Discerning what is and is NOT your business and eliminating distractions so you can expand your capacity for the things that are in alignment for YOU
  • [17:17] How to tell if your exchanges are generative, regenerative, or reciprocal - and why this matters
  • [20:25] Why you should give the MOST of your energy to THIS kind of relationship
  • [27:50] Embracing sacredness as a way of healing ANYTHING - individually, collectively, or systematically

We can feel the divide in the world - on political ideology, public health, and the environment (to name a few!)

Is there a way to learn to live together, to resolve the conflict, and to restore relationships?

My friend Kerra Bolton is an outstanding journalist & author who has worked as a freelance writer for CNN and is a winner of the NY Times Award for Outstanding Journalism.

This week, I invited Kerra to discuss the impact of building community through restorative practices.

We are diving into her take on how to build restorative communities and her journey to writing her book. She shares some tips on how to work through violations or ruptures within a community, some powerful learning and what the process of a true restorative practice looks like.

You don’t want to miss her refreshing take on the way politics is evolving and playing a role in our culture, and how we can minimize divides through these restorative practices.

You know how much we love talking about growth and change on this show - come learn something with me, she has a lot to share!

Listen to episode 404 now!

In episode 404 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • (3:00) Kerra’s origin story, and how she identifies with Christianity
  • (13:25) Meeting a crazy man who ended up being a visionary (and what he taught her about societal needs)
  • (23:15) What a true restorative practice can look like (some scripted questions to shape the conversation and why there is a need for a facilitator)
  • (35:20) Untangling vaccines, mask mandates, and the political tug-of-war over public health issues
  • (45:14) Politics in relationships - values vs. solutions

When it comes to the philosophy of non-monogamy, there can be a lot of questions: Is it polyamory or an open relationship? Do we have to tell each other about other partners? Is it a relationship or just sex? Today’s episode is all about intimacy and non-monogamy and how people connect and relate to each other in that world, with lots of nuggets that apply to ALL relationships, whether monogamous or not. In today’s episode, I’m breaking this all down with Marcia Baczynski (aka Marcia B.)

Do you geek out on consent, communication, intimacy, how we relate to each other and connect, and why we engage in romantic and sexual relationships in the first place? You’re not going to want to miss this episode!

In episode 403 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • (5:48) The difference between non-monogamy and polyamory
  • (10:28) Important and relevant things to communicate with your partner(s), particularly when you’re in a non-monogamous relationship (and why the complexity of communication grows exponentially—not linearly—in non-monogamous relationships)
  • (12:50) Ethical non-monogamy vs consensual non-monogamy: what’s the difference and do they mean the same thing? (And Marcia’s preferred term here) How do you determine if one non-monogamous relationship is ethical or not?
  • (32:17) Our best tips for living the lifestyle that works the best for YOU (and one really important thing to keep in mind when navigating non-monogamy)
  • (44:08) TWO things that are so important to pay attention to when it comes to your relationships and what to hone in on so that you can get your desires met more often

Hustle culture has too many people completely burnt out these days. Thinking that you have to constantly be “on” is doing a disservice to your mental, emotional, and physical health—and to your business.

There’s a difference between being “on” all the time and being ready. There’s a difference between hustling and being intentional.

When you are ready, when you stay ready, you can own your skills and step into your expertise.

In this episode, I’m chatting with my friend Trudi Lebrón about all things business. We’re deep diving into how to find joy in just being, the power of coaching and embodiment work, and the nuances of capitalism. It’s a conversation about making a true and lasting impact.

We also talk about her new book, The Antiracist Business Book, and why she chose to focus on business and the coaching industry. She also shares about her new professional development program, The Art and Science of Coaching.

The topics in this episode couldn’t be more relevant to where we are as a society, and I hope you’ll be able to apply some of these concepts and ideas to the growth of your own life and business (if you have one!).

In episode 402 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [03:15] How Trudi is finding the joy in just being and spending time with friends and family
  • [06:36] How two people’s interpretations of encouragement can be very different
  • [11:22] Trudi’s experience meeting Fatman Scoop and getting valuable business and sales advice
  • [20:25] Being ready for opportunities that come your way
  • [23:54] Why Trudi chose business and the coaching industry for the angle of her antiracist book
  • [33:38] How the recent Patagonia sale embodies the concept of Just Commerce
  • [40:50] Trudi’s belief in the power of coaching and business vs. coaching skills
  • [46:03] Why Trudi created her new professional development program, The Art and Science of Coaching
  • [50:33] How embodiment work can you help you both professionally and personally

Christopher Rivas is a multi-talented, multi-dimensional writer, speaker, and storyteller to name just a few of his skills. He’s the author of the soon-to-be published book Brown Enough and creator of the Rubirosa podcast. His work encourages us to ask deeper questions about our culture, our histories, and our relationships to the people in our lives.

Today, he’s the first man I’ve had on the Embodied podcast in two years. Christopher and I talk about how we both relate to our Brownness, how whiteness and capitalism have, intentionally or not, separated us from aspects of our cultural heritage, and how storytelling can connect us with pieces of our history we feel removed from.

Christopher shares story after story with us in this episode, from humorous anecdotes about a ridiculously placed shower to heartfelt recollections of how his work allowed his father to reflect on his own assimilation into white culture.

I hope this episode encourages you to keep digging into your own healing and your ancestral history, to keep reaching out with empathy and understanding to those around you, and to learn to build your own stories that can connect you with your own individual culture and your inner self.

In episode 401 we discuss:

[01:19] An introduction to Christopher and his work on storytelling

[08:43] How Christopher’s dating life helped him to reevaluate what he’d been taught about whiteness, beauty, and culture

[13:02] Defining “body of culture” and how it affects Brown people

[17:31] How Christopher’s father and his assimilation into white culture influenced Christopher’s work

[21:22] The healing effect that Christopher’s storytelling work has had on his father and his ability to connect to his original culture

[27:38] The craziest story about LA and inappropriately installed showers from Christopher’s book

[33:32] How learning a new language can be a deeply humbling and empathic experience

[40:41] How Christopher views climate and infrastructure reform as an opportunity to express empathy and care for our neighbors

[44:15] How Christopher discovered the real James Bond (he was Dominican) and why he became so determined to share this story with the rest of world

[51:39] Why stories like Rubirosa offer everyone, regardless of their culture, an opportunity to challenge their heroes and ask better questions about their history

[59:33] Why accepting your multidimensionality and rejecting the “boxes” society places us in can open you up to new realities

This week we’re celebrating Episode 400 of the Embodied Podcast! I can’t tell you all how much I appreciate your time, your love and your community over these last 400 episodes. It’s been a labor of love, joy, and what I call holy consistency over the years.

On my 39th birthday, inside the Wild Soul Sacred body Community, many of our members shared what the community and the podcast have taught them about life, spirituality, self-love, and coming home to themselves. It meant so much to me, not just because of the out-pouring of love, but also because it captures so clearly what I want this space to be: a healing, grounded, no-bullshit community where we can find and explore our true selves, cultivate more personal relationships with the divine, and learn to appreciate our bodies for a million reasons aside from how they look.

While there’s a sea of shallow “spiritual influencers” selling cookie-cutter ideal lifestyles you could be listening to, I’m so grateful you’re here, and that you’re also about collective healing, joy, and liberation.

In this upcoming season, I’ll be exploring joy and the way that joy is instrumental in our continued liberation. I want to remind you to keep reaching out for joy, to keep searching for the things that bring you deep and encompassing joy, and to practice the holy consistency that helps to feel joy and create a full, beautiful life for yourself.

Looking forward to our next 400 episodes!

In episode 400 we discuss:

  • [01:23] Your reminder to be comfortable and liberate yourself from the restraints of “professionalism” placed on you by others
  • [04:47] My birthday experience and what your words and notes meant to me
  • [05:51] How anyone with a relationship to the Divine can be a mystic
  • [07:19] Why I talk about God and invite my community to have their own spiritual, mystical experiences
  • [08:23] Why I want you to take what you need from this space, leave what doesn’t work for you, and be the most YOU that you can be
  • [12:14] How to join our welcoming, no-bullshit, spiritual community
  • [13:35] Why we’ll be exploring joy in this new season of the podcast
  • [16:04] How joy can help us create a reality to crowd out the “shitty stuff” trying to force its way into our lives
  • [17:26] How holy consistency creates an energetic foundation for our lives

About the EMBODIED Podcast with Elizabeth DiAlto

Since 2013 I’ve been developing a body of work that helps women embody self love, healing and wholeness. We do this by focusing on the four levels of consciousness - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

In practical terms this looks like exploring tools and practices to help you  tune into the deep wisdom of the body and the knowing of the heart, which I believe are gateways to our souls. Then we cultivate a new relationship with our minds that allows the mind to serve this wisdom and knowing and soul connection, rather than override it, which is what many of us were taught.

If you’ve been doing self help or spiritual development work for a while, these are the types of foundational things that often people overlook in pursuit of fancier concepts that often aren’t practical or sustainable. Here, we will focus on building these strong foundations so you can honestly and thoroughly embody self love. If you’re feeling it, subscribe to the show, and leave us a review wherever you listen from. You can also keep up with show updates and community discussion on Instagram here.

After spending most of my life exploring my sexuality through the lens of monogamy, I discovered a surprising truth about myself: I don’t actually want one romantic partner. This revelation led me to a new way of looking at my relationships and opened the door for me to finally explore non-monogamy.

I spent the last several months, which I dubbed my Sacred Slut Summer, intentionally exploring non-monogamy and how my intimate, romantic relationships can be sacred and fulfilling without being exclusive.

Choosing to explore love and intimacy through open relationships is a culmination of all my previous romantic experiences, and while some of those were better than others, each experience led me on this path to accepting the kind of love I find so much more satisfying - at least for now!

It’s also offered me a new opportunity to explore the kind of transparency and discernment that non-monogamy requires, and allowed me to lean into my interactions with the Divine and my self-love framework as I accept this new revelation in my romantic life.

I’m no expert on non-monogamy, but I hope you’ll find insights that you can take from my experiences and filter them into your own life and relationships, whether they are open, exclusive, or something else entirely.

In episode 399 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [06:05] My first experience with my sexuality
  • [08:25] How I’ve learned to appreciate all the lessons I’ve gained from my past intimate relationships
  • [11:49] The differences between my conscious hoe phase and the more reckless promiscuity of my teens and twenties
  • [13:40] How taking a break from dating taught me about experiencing intimacy and pleasure in a more sacred way
  • [16:55] How I came to the revelation that I really didn’t want a partner
  • [19:37] The sacred prostitute and my inspiration for my Sacred Slut Summer
  • [26:01] Discovering the relational “nutrients” that I could only receive through intimate, romantic relationships
  • [28:53] Redefining my views on non-monogamy
  • [34:01] Why my relationship with my constellation of companions is so fulfilling right now
  • [37:13] How this exploration fits into my self-love framework
  • [40:48] The absolute, wildest story from my Sacred Slut Summer and the opportunity it offered to practice discernment
  • [43:56] How I offered opportunity to heal and repair the transparency and openness in this relationship
  • [47:29]  Why I’m still not comfortable offering specific advice on this topic

It’s a season of beginnings: a new season of the podcast, a new year of living (I’ll be 39 in a few days), a new way of looking at the intimate relationships in my life, and more.

As I move into this new season, I want to take a moment to reflect back on my 39 years of life and some of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way.

In this episode, I’m letting myself flow and bringing you insights as I feel them. It’s an exploration of personal evolution and self-discovery.

I’m diving into self-love, emotional intelligence, the sacred, humility, relationships, love, and letting these lessons flow through intuitively.

All of these little lessons have led me toward liberation and healing. They’ve allowed me to architect and embrace the peaceful, joyful life that I have.

And while every lesson might not be immediately relevant to you, I hope you’ll be able to filter each one through your own unique lens and your own intuition to find the bits of truth that resonate with you.

In episode 398 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [01:03] Reflections as I enter my 39th year
  • [04:58] How letting go of perfectionism is an act of self-love
  • [09:30] Discovering your relationship with yourself and developing your inner loving voice
  • [15:33] How embracing humility lets us release self-importance
  • [20:01] How I’m rethinking my intimate relationships
  • [25:20] Self-acceptance and not getting stuck on the “healing hamster wheel”
  • [30:03] The difference between judgment and discernment
  • [31:21] How the soul is the bridge to the Divine
  • [34:15] Why I don’t believe in being “single”
  • [37:42] The difference between compassion and tolerance
  • [40:01] How curiosity allows to stay open for growth and learning
  • [44:08] How shifting our context can expand our options
  • [48:05] Finding liberation in whatever context you need
  • [51:57] Don’t be afraid of shit
  • [54:43] Holding on to your integrity and telling the truth as your grow and change
  • [55:46] Responding in love to yourself and others

Mary Magdalene has given me so much  and in celebration of Mary Magdalene Feast Day this July 22nd I want to give something to you.

In Episode 397 of The Embodied Podcast I show you how I engage with Mary Magdalene, who to me represents immense compassion and unconditional love.

This world is filled with people who are suffering and sometimes I feel like there is a misconception around unconditional love.

Unconditional love does NOT look like being a punching bag; you do NOT have to sacrifice yourself to manage the feelings of others who are in a worse place than you.

From Mary Magdalene I’ve learned what true unconditional love and compassion actually look like, what it means to have heaven on earth, how to be in my body, how to get out of my head and let my soul take up more space. From today’s episode I hope you learn that you too can have the courage to choose yourself; unconditional love takes strength and your strength can help bring healing to the collective.

P.s. This is the last episode of The Embodied Podcast before my summer break. I hope you have a wonderful summer and I’ll be back on September 12th with new episodes.

Dr. Katherine Lawson is  a Mind Body Medicine practitioner who is deeply interested in therapies that stimulate one's capacity for self-knowledge and self-healing through self-care. She focuses on the interactions between the brain, mind, body, and personality, and the powerful ways in which mental, social, spiritual, and behavioral factors affect health and happiness.

Dr. Katherine has been looking at dreamwork, mysticism and psychedelic experiences for almost two decades as a way to help people experience whatever healing and growth is available to them.

Now her biggest work revolves around helping people prepare for psychedelic experiences and in training them how to integrate those experiences into their lives (post the properly guided psychedelic event) for true healing from trauma and complex trauma.

In our conversation, Dr. Katherine explains the overlap of dreamwork, psychedelic work and the practice of embodiment. We also got into aging in an empowered way.

The science is that when your body understands something it sends a message to your brain that changes the way that your brain is wired to respond to certain events. With certain psychedelics, administered at the correct dosage, your brain can no longer hold the space for shame and judgment which frees you to more fully embody and understand yourself.

If you’re ready to learn more about psychedelics as well as what it looks like to age empowered and to let go of hard things, listen to episode 396 now!

In episode 396 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [1:12] How Dr. Katherine communes with God

Dr. Maya Shetreat is a neurologist, herbalist and astrologer who is bridging science and the sacred. Maya is a conventionally-trained pediatric neurologist but she’s also an herbalist and author of The Dirt Cure and she will be the first to tell you she’s weird. And if that’s true then I am her kind of weird and you might be too!

Maya spent her 20s getting married, having babies, and becoming a doctor. She spent her 30s building a practice and growing her family. By the time she reached her 40s, Maya had checked off all the traditional boxes of “success” and then decided to “burn it down.”

Why? Because she knew the expectations that came from being a wife and a woman in her heterosexual marriage were no longer in alignment with her soul’s purpose and longings on this earth.

In our conversation we dig into what it was like to develop at an early age, what it looks like to pursue non-traditional currencies of “success” instead of money and what it looks like to exercise as a spiritual practice.

As Maya is approaching her 50s she has no desire to return to her former self and is falling more in love with her body, her soul and her purpose with each passing day. Our chat touches on how you can do the same.

In our time together we also discuss Maya’s work with mushrooms and psychedelics (you’ll also learn about my first accidental experience with psychedelics) and Maya’s course on creating fun, play and spaciousness in our lives. If you need to heal from trauma, are looking to create more space in your life to pursue your true heart’s desires or would like to work 1:1 with Maya, make sure you connect on  drmaya.com

In episode 395 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [0:37] Maya’s complicated relationship with being a doctor
  • [2:10] Maya’s relationship with God, a creative force, the unnameable
  • [5:36] What happens when we harness ourselves to the worship of money

Francisca Santibañez is an herbalist, ritualist, wellness guide, medicine maker, educator, artist and founder of Plant Spirit Talk. Francisca believes that plants have a divine purpose that is much greater than existing solely for human pleasure.

For Suzanne Barr, one of North America’s most respected chefs, food has to be about more than just an incredible tasting dish; food is joy, it’s happiness, it’s comfort, it’s healing, and understanding where it comes from is part of being an active participant in the human experience.

Suzanne’s book, My Ackee Tree is a book that looks back on the forty plus years of Suzanne’s life including being raised in Plantation, Florida and studying in places like New York, Hawaii and The South of France.

Jun 6, 2022

Loving yourself is an all the time thing and in today’s episode I’m specifically reflecting on how to love yourself in 2022 after all we’ve been through.  Self-love can feel out of reach, especially in a world that actively feels like it’s falling apart. With a pandemic, wars,  hate crimes and what feels like growing violence in our communities, pursuing self-love may seem frivolous or overwhelming but in reality, pursuing self-love is the greatest thing you can do to tip the scales and bring peace to yourself and the world around you.

Today I’m getting into my Embodied Self-Love framework of self-awareness, self-knowledge, self-acceptance, self-trust, and self-respect. The framework is designed to help you fully love your whole self, including your wild soul. It’s different from traditional self-improvement work because rather than teaching you that pieces of yourself are broken, I’m showing you how to love yourself from a place of knowing that you are whole and that not only are you not broken but in fact you can’t break.

Rather than teaching you to do more, to be “better,” self-love shows you what it can feel like to fully embody your whole self; to live as a soul on this earth.

When you love yourself in this way and  know you are  and whole, you can tap into the best version of yourself and from that place, show up the way you want to, not only for yourself but for your loved ones and your community.

In Episode 391 we take a look at what self-love is, what the wild soul is and how your unique human design can give you clues to what your unique superpower is.

My superpower is self-love and my mission is to help as many individuals as possible learn how to love themselves so that we can tip the scales and bring more healing to this world.

If you want to begin or deepen your self-love journey check out my  Self-Love Immersion. It starts June 13th. You can sign up at untameyourself.com/selflove

In episode 391 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [1:37] showing up for yourself even when you aren’t feeling okay
  • [3:58] Elizabeth’s superpower is self-love and how she discovered that
  • [4:15] Secrets to “success” and what success looks like to Elizabeth
  • [5:21] what is the self-love framework
  • [5:38] applying the self-love framework to all stages of life
  • [8:18] why we don’t try to escape reality at The School of Sacred Embodiment

Do you feel consumed by worry, fear, self-doubt or comparison?

Or maybe you find that you’re coverconsuing (food, media, the opinions of others) and that overconsumption is robbing you of joy, peace and compassion.

If you’re living your life comparing yourself to others or trying to force yourself to behave and think the way dominant culture suggests you “should”, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment, because regardless of what the coaching world suggests, usually a one size fits all approach doesn’t work for us all.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing how you can begin to unconsume yourself by looking at those things that consistently consume you and then consciously make choices about how to let those things go.

We’ll take a look  at how Human Design can help you better understand how you uniquely manifest in this world, we’ll go over the my Embodied self love framework (self-awareness, self-knowledge, self-acceptance, self-trust, self-respect/boundaries), and I’ll show you what it looks like to take a life inventory to see where you might be the most consumed by things that do not serve you.

If you enjoy today’s episode and want to dive deeper into this conversation and into the work of unconsuming yourself, check out my Self-Love Immersion at untameyourself.com/selflove. The immersion is designed to help you do the deep work so that you can come out of it with real deal self love as your super power.

Have you bought into the lie that thinner is better?

I just had my first photoshoot since 2020. It was my first photoshoot since the pandemic and my first photoshoot at my heaviest weight. I was curious how I would feel during the photoshoot and I was also a little worried about how I might feel once I got the photos back (would I like the photos or would I feel uncomfortable with the parts of me that didn’t look “good” in certain lighting or at “unflattering” angles?).

To my happy surprise, I felt confident and sexy during the shoot and when I looked at the photos afterward, I LOVED them. I felt like a proud mama recognizing all the hard work I had accomplished in self-love and embodiment work; seeing my true self shine through in the photos and loving her.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing more about this photoshoot and all of the work I’ve done to truly love myself, my whole self, in the hopes that you will join me and feel empowered in your body at every shape and size.

If you have ever struggled with the lie that you had to be a certain dress size in order to be “sexy,” if you’ve been hurt by people’s unsolicited comments on your body, if you have been hurt by diet culture or fatphobia or maybe you just don’t know how to love your body regardless of your size, sign up for my FREE training on how to Unconsume Yourself, so that you can recover your energy, time, power and peace.

Listen to episode 389 now!

In episode 389 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [3:26] The weight I’ve gained since 2020
  • [5:18] Feeling like a proud mama when I received the photos back from my most recent photoshoot

  • [7:30] The 5 components of self-love work and how I create the frameworks for my courses

Have you ever had an experience you couldn’t quite explain? Maybe you were lying down in bed and you could feel the presence of someone else even though you were technically alone. Or maybe a loved one passed but every now and then, seemingly out of nowhere, you can smell their particular brand of cigar in your car.

It might sound crazy but these are all examples of experiences I’ve had and there are thousands of similar experiences reported by others; experiences that suggest that life continues even when our physical bodies do not.

What if, when someone dies, they don’t really leave us? We might not be able to physically engage with them, but we can certainly still communicate with them and in Episode 388 of the Embodied Podcast, Lindsay Marino, Psychic Medium and Mentor, shares how our passed loved ones often try to communicate with us.

If you ever had an imaginary friend, felt a deep empathy for someone or knew something about them that you had no way of knowing, thought a passed loved one was trying to communicate with you or are questioning if your experiences are “normal,” you might have the gift of Mediumship. The great news is that you aren’t crazy and you aren’t alone.

In Episode 388 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

  • [2:39] why Lindsay knows God is real and what “God” means to her
  • [6:10] the two ways Lindsay actively communes with God
  • [8:30] Lindsay’s “coming online” moment where she recognized not everyone experienced the world in the same way she does
  • [11:40] the different ways to receive communications from “the other side”
  • [12:47] the importance of cleaning out your personal filter before giving a reading
  • [14:30] an example of when I listened to guidance that did not serve me and why we need to follow our intuition first and foremost when receiving a reading
  • [19:40] the importance of having clear boundaries and detaching yourself from your career in order to enjoy the other aspects of your life
  • [22:19] how not to interact with a Medium
  • [24:50] the afterlife; what is it like, does hell exist and does our grief keep our loved ones from moving on
  • [27:49] do our loved ones who commit suicide find peace
  • [34:52] how our loved ones will choose symbols we recognize to let us know they are with us
  • [36:11] why it’s okay if you are a skeptic of psychic/Medium work
  • [37:29] the three main reasons why people visit Lindsay and participate in her programs
  • [38:00] whether or not we can all be Mediums
  • [41:08] how to show up for your child if they have a psychic or Medium gift
  • [44:37] in a reading is it possible to connect with a person you never met in this life
  • [49:04] the person I most want to connect with now and a practical way Lindsay shares that I can start that communication

Do you love roses? Feel deeply connected to the Divine in nature? Or find symbolism in little things all the time?

Everything around you–from the birds you pass on your morning walk to the numbers on the clock when you wake up in the middle of the night–are symbols, tools for finding meaning in Life. You just have to learn how to look for them.

In today’s episode, I’m chatting with author and mystic Rebecca Campbell about how she finds and connects with symbols in nature, especially flora, in her daily life.

For years, Rebecca has had a deeply personal relationship with roses. She admires them for their duality: a beautiful, soft bloom surrounded by hard thorns. In contemplating the rose, she’s able to connect more deeply with her version of the divine.

And now, she’s released an oracle deck to help others find symbolism and meaning in the natural world. She shows us that every bloom, every leaf, every thorn is a tool for seeing ourselves more clearly.

Join me in today’s episode as I chat with Rebecca about her relationship with roses and how they’ve popped up throughout her spiritual journey. She’s sharing her process for designing her oracle decks, and she’s shedding light on how she maintains a strong marriage while also growing on her own.

Are you aware of how birthing can change you?

We’re not just talking about the birth of children but also the birth of projects, dreams and ideas.

In today’s episode, I’m speaking with Christine Gutiérrez, a therapist, author of I Am Diosa, spiritual mentor, and mother.

As someone who has experienced firsthand an orgasmic birth, Christine uncovers the birthing process and how becoming a mother has shifted who she is internally and externally to the world around her.

We’re both people who are outspoken in our beliefs, integrity and ethical code. We chat about how this impacts the choices we make and the opportunities we pursue.

Listen in as we talk about how her rhythms and cycles have shifted as she’s stepped into motherhood and how she engages with work now. Whether you’re a mother or not, there are a lot of gems in this discussion.
