Lessons 11 through 20 in my “40 Lessons in 40 Years” series all stem from one overarching theme: lead with curiosity. When I get curious with myself and the world around me, there’s so much potential for compassion, healing, and discovery.

In this episode, I reflect on some of my deepest liberatory practices, including not taking things personally, prioritizing people who can respect me, and honoring the orientation of my soul. All of the lessons mentioned in this series are extracted from lived experiences, either my own or those around me, so I’d love to hear what resonates with you. See you back here next week for lessons number 21 to 30!

In episode 438 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

(0:47) Lesson #11: Allowing other people to have their own experiences is one of the most liberating practices that any of us can ever have.

(4:32) Lesson #12: Don’t take things personally, or make things about you.

(7:03) Lesson #13: Chronological age doesn't guarantee or determine as much as we think it should, would or does towards people's maturity.

(8:33) Lesson #14: None of us should waste our time with people who don't respect us.

(10:32) Lesson #15: Give the most time to people who see, honor, cherish, revere, and respect you for who you really are.

(15:27) Lesson #16: If any part of your identity is part of a norm, it's very important for you to learn about the lived experiences, and gain some insight and competence about the experiences of those who aren't part of the same norm that you are.

(18:22) Lesson #17: Money is important for survival, but it ain't all that.

(20:27) Lesson #18: Younger souls are here to manifest and older souls are here to serve God.

(24:10) Lesson #19: Accepting who and where you are, and accepting responsibility for your life, is also a liberatory practice.

(26:32) Lesson #20: Sometimes it's helpful to learn the rules so you can break them.

In this episode, I am getting into morning routines, sacred embodiment style. Instead of telling you what to do, I’m going to share a few stories, read a poem, and invite you into what I share about my morning routine, Body Love and Reverence, and the beautiful ripple effect falling in love with your body creates (spoiler: it has to do with way more than what you look like!)

I always do a birthday offering, and this year is doubly exciting. There’s a celebration coming up in September to celebrate my birthday and 10 years of the School of Sacred Embodiment, plus I share details about the CHERISH retreat happening in Spain, Fall of 2024.

If morning routines allude you or you’re tight on time in the morning and tend to skip it, I hope this episode gives you space for your own sacred morning embodiment practice to emerge, since as I like to remind people constantly,  something is always better than nothing.

In episode 436 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

(2:45) How sensual language inspires embodiment practice

(4:12) A poem inspired by my Sacred Embodied Specialist class

(7:22) My personal sacred embodiment morning routine and the practice of noticing yourself

(10:17) The value of Body Love and reverence

(12:24) How intentional connection creates a ripple effect throughout your day no matter how long you take to do it

In this episode, I am diving into the painful, yet sometimes absolutely necessary, act of boundaries and managing hard relationships. I share excerpts from two books that have helped me along my healing journey, and the role responsibility plays in the parent-child dynamic, even into adulthood.

I also share an exciting double celebration coming up in September to celebrate my birthday and 10 years of the School of Sacred Embodiment, plus details about the CHERISH retreat happening in the Fall of 2024 in Spain.

If you are navigating boundaries, hard relationships, emotional abuse, or no-contact situations, I hope this episode will provide some useful insight or perspective and deepen your compassion for yourself and others along the way.

In episode 435 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss:

(2:18) The hope that this episode will provide clarity and perspective

(4:44) Emotional and psychological abuse and its effects

(8:45) I share some worlds from Harriet Lerner’s TEDx talk

(15:38) The paradox of two things existing at the same time

(20:39) My choice to cut off family after 11 years

(24:41) Communication around boundaries and differing perspectives

(35:48) I share an excerpt from Boundary Boss by Terri Cole about Boundary Destroyers

(40:22) Jonah Hill’s ex-girlfriend and an example of a boundary request

(52:53) How boundaries don’t automatically create better relationships
